New to public tenders? Plain-English guide to this page
Framework
An agreement that sets terms for work the buyer may order later, often from several suppliers. The value shown usually covers the whole agreement, not one job.
Open for bids / closing date
You must submit by the closing date and time, normally through the buyer's own online portal. Late bids are normally refused.
Clarification questions
A deadline for asking the buyer questions about the tender. It is earlier than the closing date.
Conditions of participation
What the buyer asks suppliers to show before they can be considered, such as experience, insurance or accreditations.
Bids are scored on
How the buyer will compare bids, usually a split between price and quality. A 60/40 split in favour of quality means the cheapest bid will not necessarily win.
Lots
A tender can be split into parts. You can often bid for only the lots that suit you.
Area (ITL)
The buyer names an official statistical area for where the work is, not a street address. Check the tender documents for the actual sites.
UK4 and other notice codes
Official codes for the type of notice. A "tender notice" means bids are being invited.

Description

The final date and time for the submission of bids is Wednesday 21st October 2026 at 11:00 DO NOT apply directly to the buyer. All tender information MUST be submitted through the Jaggaer eSourcing Portal. Brief Description of Requirement Phase 1 The objective of phase 1 is to assess the safety and risk considerations for deployment of up to 800 W AC mains output plug-in batteries in the UK context with acceptable electrical and fire safety risk. The study will inform technical standards adaptations and assess the feasibility of safe, plug-in batteries for UK domestic use. A relevant set of installation configurations will need to be considered in scope of the fire and electrical safety tests and will be finalised as part of the test protocol development for the study, in consultation with relevant stakeholders. These installation configurations may include individual plug-in batteries, plug-in battery DC-coupled to plug-in solar with a single hybrid inverter, multiple plug-in batteries DC-coupled in series, and multiple plug-in batteries DC-coupled in parallel. An illustrative set of installation configurations that might be expected to be considered by the supplier when developing the test protocol are provided below, noting that the tests should focus on the standalone plug-in battery products and/or the plug-in battery to plug-in solar interface rather than the wider domestic environment in which they are located. Please ensure you review all attached information to ensure a full understanding of this requirement.
