Framework
An agreement that sets terms for work the buyer may order later, often from several suppliers. The value shown usually covers the whole agreement, not one job.
Open for bids / closing date
You must submit by the closing date and time, normally through the buyer's own online portal. Late bids are normally refused.
Clarification questions
A deadline for asking the buyer questions about the tender. It is earlier than the closing date.
Conditions of participation
What the buyer asks suppliers to show before they can be considered, such as experience, insurance or accreditations.
Bids are scored on
How the buyer will compare bids, usually a split between price and quality. A 60/40 split in favour of quality means the cheapest bid will not necessarily win.
Lots
A tender can be split into parts. You can often bid for only the lots that suit you.
Area (ITL)
The buyer names an official statistical area for where the work is, not a street address. Check the tender documents for the actual sites.
UK4 and other notice codes
Official codes for the type of notice. A "tender notice" means bids are being invited.

Description

The framework is structured across the following Lots: Lot 1: Corporate, Contracts and Commercial Law Lot 2: Property, Planning and Construction Lot 3: Utilities Lot 4: Regulatory, Employment and Litigation The framework provides access to specialist legal expertise across a range of disciplines to support the requirements of TVCA and its constituent organisations. Providers appointed to each Lot have demonstrated relevant experience and capability within their respective areas of practice and sectors. Commissions may, where appropriate, involve services that span multiple Lots. The estimated aggregate value of all Lots over the lifetime of the Open Framework is between £7 million and £10 million, subject to organisational requirements and the availability of external funding. The Open Framework has a maximum duration of four years and will operate through successive framework iterations as follows: - Framework 1: Initial term of 24 months. - Framework 2: Term of 12 months, with an option to extend for up to a further 12 months. - Framework 3: Final framework term of up to 12 months, subject to whether the extension option under Framework 2 is exercised.
