Framework
An agreement that sets terms for work the buyer may order later, often from several suppliers. The value shown usually covers the whole agreement, not one job.
Open for bids / closing date
You must submit by the closing date and time, normally through the buyer's own online portal. Late bids are normally refused.
Clarification questions
A deadline for asking the buyer questions about the tender. It is earlier than the closing date.
Conditions of participation
What the buyer asks suppliers to show before they can be considered, such as experience, insurance or accreditations.
Bids are scored on
How the buyer will compare bids, usually a split between price and quality. A 60/40 split in favour of quality means the cheapest bid will not necessarily win.
Lots
A tender can be split into parts. You can often bid for only the lots that suit you.
Area (ITL)
The buyer names an official statistical area for where the work is, not a street address. Check the tender documents for the actual sites.
UK4 and other notice codes
Official codes for the type of notice. A "tender notice" means bids are being invited.

Description

Leicester City Council is looking at the recommissioning of our local High Dependency bed service of behalf of Leicestershire County Council and our LNR ICB. High Dependency Intermediate Care provides a short-term, intensive care and support bedded service in a non-clinical environment (i.e. nursing home) within the Leicester or Leicestershire area. This discharge pathway is for individuals with complex health and social care needs who require a higher level of support than traditional intermediate care services. The service aims to support timely hospital discharge, prevent unnecessary hospital admissions, promote recovery, reablement and rehabilitation, and enable people to regain as much independence as possible within a community setting. The service specific requirements includes a provider offering fifteen dedicated High Dependency Intermediate Care beds within a CQC-registered nursing home that is rated Good or Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission at the point of tender submission. It is proposed that these beds are to be block booked for the maximum contract term of 3 years on a 2+1 basis. This contract is being awarded through the Competitive Process under the Provider Selection Regime. Full detailed requirements can be accessed through the published suite of documents.
